WMBD/WYZZ-TV - WASHINGTON, Ill. - Colton Underwood is hoping his phone rings sometime the over three next three days.
And on the other end is an NFL team picking him in the draft.
"Any position in the NFL is a position in the NFL for me," said the All-American defensive lineman from Illinois State. "Obviously, playing four years on defense at the college level is going to help me and my chances for a defensive spot. But it they ask me to play fullback on Sunday's, that's what I'm going to do."
The 6-2, 255-pound Underwood has been targeted as a linebacker in pre-draft workouts. He's worked out for New England, Kansas City, Green Bay and San Diego.
Now he's waiting for the phone to ring.
"Growing up, it was a dream and that turned into a goal now. For it to be so close is really exciting," said Underwood. "It's definitely an experience I'm not going to forget."
Underwood had 66 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles with ISU last season.
