Warehouse District Detours Part of Redevelopment Project

Detours for Monday 3/17
PEORIA - The city of Peoria is in construction mode as part of its warehouse district development project.

Peoria was awarded a $10-million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. It's called the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery II (TIGER).

The city is trying to encourage development in the warehouse district and make the streets safer and more attractive.

Starting Monday March 17, Washington Street will have lane weaves from Persimmon Street to State Street. Traffic on Jefferson Avenue will shift to the river side of Jefferson to allow for construction.

On Tuesday, March 18, State Street will have a parking ban, which means no parking will be allowed on either side of State Street between Water and Washington streets.
