Death of 8-year-old Peoria Boy Ruled Homicide

The death of an eight-year-old boy found in a refrigerator in the back yard of a home on Peoria's south side in August is ruled a homicide.

PEORIA - The death of an eight-year-old boy found in the back yard of a home on Peoria's south side in August is ruled a homicide.

The Peoria County Coroner's jury made the ruling today for Marquail Johnson.

His body was found in a refrigerator in a yard near his home on Western Avenue.

His orginal cause of death was suffocation and entrapment.

The coroner's jury rulings will be sent to the Peoria County State's Attorney for review.

Peoria Police continue to investigate.
