Dentist Office Offering Candy Buy Back

$1 per pound!
EAST PEORIA – One dental group in Central Illinois is organizing a candy buy back on Monday to benefit troops serving overseas.

Maple shade dentistry is offering one dollar per pound of unopened goodies. Whatever they collect will make its way to troops overseas through Operation Santa. The group says it sent over 450 pounds of candy last year, saving kids from more than just cavities.

"Obesity, hyperactivity. It's just, it's better to use moderation and we hope to give the parents an outlet so they don't have to sit around and wonder about the candy for the next two months," said dental director, Erin Shanahan.

The buyback is happening on Monday, November 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. People can go to one of the three locations: 11825 N. Knoxville Avenue in North Peoria, 1011 Illini Drive in East Peoria, and 809 W. Camp Street in East Peoria.
