The FEMA disaster recovery center will close its doors this Saturday.
So far 2,700 families have registered for federal aid across the state, just shy of 1,500 in Tazewell County alone.
The recovery center is open from nine to six through Saturday.
FEMA says if you have been denied aid already, the recovery center is the best place to go for help to apply again.
“If you got a declination letter and are not quite sure what to do, where to go, the Disaster Recovery Center in East Peoria is definitely your stop. You want to come here. You can get questions answered. We can help fax documentation in,” said FEMA representative, Deanna Frazier.
The deadline to register for federal aid is next Monday, January 27.
