Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Scott Dixon won Saturday's qualifying, while his teammate, Dario Franchitti, finished second to give Chip Ganassi Racing the front starting row for race 2 in the IndyCar Series' doubleheader this weekend on the streets of Toronto.

Dixon, who won last weekend's race at Pocono Raceway, made a lap around this 1.75-mile, 11-turn street circuit in 58.9658 seconds for his 19th career IndyCar pole but his first since June 2012 at Belle Isle Park in Detroit. Race 2 in Toronto is scheduled for Sunday (3:30 p.m. ET). Dixon placed sixth in Friday's qualifying for race 1.

"The lap just came together," Dixon said. "I left a little on the table (Friday). The guys put in some work on the car last night, making a few adjustments, and it's definitely got the speed to drive today. It's been a little while since we've been on pole for a road/street course, so definitely very happy about."

Dixon was among the 12 drivers who ran in group 2 during qualifying. Franchitti was quickest in group 1, also with 12 drivers, with a lap in 59.1905 seconds. He held the provisional pole until Dixon topped him. Franchitti won the pole for race 1, which is scheduled for Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET).

"We're very happy to have both Target (Chip Ganassi Racing) cars on the front row, and Scott did a great job to get the pole," Franchitti said.

Ganassi had a 1-2-3 podium sweep at Pocono, with Charlie Kimball finishing second to Dixon, and Franchitti placing third. The last time Ganassi had a front starting row sweep in IndyCar occurred in October 2010 at Homestead- Miami Speedway.

Helio Castroneves, the current points leader, qualified third for race 2, while Ryan Hunter-Reay, the defending IndyCar champion, took the fourth spot. Will Power completed the top-five.

Sixth through 10th were: Tony Kanaan, Sebastien Bourdais, who is starting on the front row with Franchitti in race 1, Ryan Briscoe, Alex Tagliani and Simona De Silvestro.
