WMBD/WYZZ- TV - EAST PEORIA, Ill. - They've had a lot of time to think about it.
But it doesn't get any easier. Josh Wegman and James Saathoff missed out of bringing East Peoria High School its first bass fishing trophy by four ounces.
"We lost a couple of fish and we were a little ticked off about it," said Wegman, a junior. "We lost by four ounces."
East Peoria finished fourth at the state bass fishing finals this spring. Only the top three schools earn trophies.
This summer the two have vowed to bring a trophy back to EP next spring.
"(It was) a nice fish that could have been big bass," recalled Saathoff as he talked about the fish that could have put his team in fourth. "Set the hook on it, I guess it wasn't hard enough."
