East Peoria Lays Out Clean Up Plan for Tornado Victims

EAST PEORIA - East Peoria is laying out a plan for its tornado cleanup. With trees scattered across yards and in the streets, the city is now allowing its residents to burn any tree limbs or brush that blew into their yards.

City officials say the burn must be done by an adult, and there must be water nearby.

Any larger branches must be taken to the roadside. Residents are encouraged to document their losses with photos and get a dumpster for debris.

All residents must apply for demolition or repair work permits, although fees may be waived for those who incurred storm damage.
