EAST PEORIA – Book by book, the Fondulac Library in East Peoria is packing up and preparing for its big move.
The Library Director Amy Falasz-Peterson said the packing began Tuesday.
Thousands of books are being carefully transported over to the new location in the 400 block of Richland Street in East Peoria.
Falasz-Peterson said the new library will be twice the size of its old space and will offer the public much more material and programming. “Our children's department in the new building is as big as our whole current library. We will be able to offer more programs, we will have more computers, we will have more books, more DVDs.”
The new library will be open to the public in late October. In the meantime, cardholders are invited to use other local libraries, including Peoria, Morton, and Washington.
