EAST PEORIA - A former East peoria football coach is behind bars for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in school funds. Doug Martin is in the Tazewell County jail on felony theft charges after a six month investigation. He is accused of misappropriating more than $33-thousand from the school. Martin is a former teacher and head football coach at East Peoria High. He was dismissed from the school in April after an audit revealed discrepancies in the football budget.
