Friends, Family Hold Vigil for Julie Peters

Dozens came together to honor Julie Peters at the spot where her car was found in the river.
CHILLICOTHE - After day of searching, dozens of friends and family members came together Thursday night to honor Julie Peters’ life.

Emotions ran high as people arrived with candles and heart shaped balloons. They gathered in Chillicothe at the spot where peters' car was taken out of the river.

Close friends say honoring Julie peters with a vigil brings closure to a woman who was loved by many.

"I can't put it into words it was like I was going to cry to my stomach and I just don't want to say goodbye," said friend, Jerrod Coryel.

"I mean she really was a sweet girl, just full of life and beauty and joy. She had a smile that would make anybody happy," said Michael Campbell, who said Peters was ‘like a daughter’ to him.

Police say the investigation continues as they try to find out how Peters car ended up in the river.
