A Galesburg woman admits she was speeding and driving drunk when she struck and killed a Knox College student almost a year ago. According to WGIL Radio, 34 year old Lakeesha Smith Wednesday pleaded guilty to reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident at South and West Streets in Galesburg last October. Prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence of no more than 9 years in prison when Smith is sentenced November 13th but she could face up to 20 years behind bars.
