Bill Bontemps served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he was an infantryman. He later served as a photographer and writer for the Stars and Stripes newspaper. When not covering combat missions, bill traveled with his unit to local villages where army doctors provided much need treatment to children. Upon returning home, Bill started a win the people campaign to collect clothing, school supplies, and food for Vietnamese children. Bill completed his masters degree in educational media at ISU. He is now the director of vocational services for Goodwill of central Illinois. He oversees the veterans' services program which assists veterans with their reintegration into our community.
