Reports show that Illinois is the top soybean producing state in the country.
Governor Pat Quinn commended Illinois farmers for being the top soybean-producing state in the country.
Final crop figures released by the National Agricultural Statistics Service show that Illinois harvested 462 bushels of soybeans last fall. That’s 51 million more than any other state in the nation.
Illinois farmers also harvested more than 11 million acres of corn last year.
