According to a newly issued Illinois August crop report, the Illinois corn crop is expected to yield 165 bushels per acre, up 60 bushels from last year's yield. Acres harvested for grain were estimated at 11.9 million, basically unchanged from June. Production of corn would be 1.964 billion bushels, more than 52 percent higher than last year. The 2013 soybean crop in Illinois is expected to yield 47 bushels per acre, 4 bushels more than last year. Total production for the state is forecast at 439 million bushels, 15 percent more than last year.
