NORMAL - For a third straight year, Rachel Tejada is far and away the best athlete in the Valley, winning the conference player of the year for the third straight season."
"Huge honor just to be out here playing. When team is doing well, obviously were all doing well together," said Rachel Tejada, ISU Junior Forward.
Tejada leads the league in points, goals, assists and shots, and is almost impossible to stop.
"When she's moving, and playing quick, there isn't a player in the country that is more dangerous and fun to watch than she is," said Drew Roff, ISU Head Coach.
Already been a career year for Tejada, who in October, broke the all-time points record in ISU history.
"Huge accomplishment and tremendous honor," said Tejada. "I wouldn't be here without them."
Now the attention turns to winning three straight tournament titles...a feat ISU has never accomplished."
"This time of year is when we really get excited to play," said Roff. "This is when championships are won. This is when games are most fun."
"We just have to keep giving 100-percent," said Tejada. "Our defense is really locking it down now. Shutting teams out is huge for us."
