Knox County Driver Convicted of Reckless Homicide

A Gilson driver, charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI in connection with a fatal accident two years ago, was found guilty Monday of reckless homicide during a stipulated bench trial. 21 year old Jose Beltran, Junior faces sentencing in December after a judge, rather than a jury found him guilty Monday. He was charged following a wreck which killed Knoxville High School honor student Brandon Melton of rural Galesburg. Police say Beltran's car hit a power pole and rolled several times.
