BLOOMINGTON - A special event dedicated to family, fun, and lots of free samples could be found at the Bloomington Interstate Center Saturday.

It's all part of the 2nd Annual Living Well Women's Expo, brought to you by the WMBD-31 and WYZZ-Fox 43 team.

"You have a little bit of everything, you have food, you have health, and you have designs. So, it's a really neat place to come out and see everything," said Sandy Utsler of The Flooring Store.

Hundreds of families attended the Living Well Women's Expo this year. Many were returning for the second time, to shake hands and meet familiar faces.

"This time I came back because I heard there were a lot of fun things to do," said Heather Newkirk of Carlock.

"I’ve been going to the one over in Peoria for the last couple of years, and when I found out they had one over here, I thought I’d check it out too," said Cynthia Washkowiak of Granville.

Customers were greeted by rows of lotions, potions and perfumes.

"I thought they would only have things as far as women's health and selling nail polish," said Jennifer Brigham of Bloomington.

"There was face-painting. There was a lot of giveaways, and it's a very non-invasive atmosphere. I can just check stores out without feeling like they're trying to sell me something," said Newkirk.

Businesses say it’s a great opportunity to reach out to the public.

"Meet some people in the community and it's also a great way to let women know we do design work and we just love to come help them out with their homes," said Utsler.

Jon Hargis brought his daughters, Abbey and Anna to the show for the first time.

"Just all the things that are available over there. It was fun...and enlightening," said Hargis.

Hargis even tried out a few of the events with his girls.

"Well, everyone thinks it's cool because he's being a good sport," said Abbey Otto.

After a day filled with adventure--many say they plan to come back next year—to an expo that's helping those young and old live happy and healthy.
