WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - Notre Dame is bracing itself for an emotional wave on Tuesday.
The Irish will meet Wheaton Academy in the Class 2A soccer super-sectional at DeKalb with a trip to state on the line. Notre Dame beat the Warriors, 2-1 on penalty kicks in last season's state semifinals.
"It'll be a big motivation on their side," saidf ND senior goalkeeper Justin Buck. "Being that closer to a state championship. I know they haven't won one. Being that close ad being taken off in PK's, it's huge. I'm sure they will come out hungry for us."
It's a 6 p.m. start Tuesday.
Aian Hill/ND midfielder: "That's a great advantqage for them, emotionally. They are out for blood against us," said Notre dame sophomore midfielder Aidan Hill.
Notre Dame is trying to win back-to-back state soccer titles for the first time in school history.
