PEORIA - Christmas may be the last thing on the minds of those affected by last month’s tornadoes.
Now the parents have some help in giving presents to their children after they lost everything.
Neighborhood House hosts Peoria’s longest-running toy shop.
Thanks to a gift from ADM Corporation, parents are now able to shop there for free.
The Neighborhood House toy shop is open December 12th and 13th.
Parents do need to register by tomorrow.
"Typically our toy shop program goes from birth to age 12 and this year we actually expanded to birth to 18 just for the tornado victims. So we are in need great need of toys from 13 to 18,” said Becky Rossman, Neighborhood House Director.
In addition to families with children, senior citizen displaced by the storm may call neighborhood house to receive gifts through the “Santa for Seniors” program.
Tornado victims can register for the Toy Shop or Santa for Seniors by calling Neighborhood House at 309-674-1131. Neighborhood House is located at 1020 S. Matthew Street in Peoria.
