New Changes in Disability Parking for 2014

Things to keep in mind.
PEORIA - Only certain types of disabilities will exempt people from paying the meter in 2014.

A new law means the driver has to meet tougher requirements that must be approved by a doctor for a yellow and gray permanent placard. Those people will be exempt from the parking meter fees. People who aren't eligible will still receive a permanent placard but will be required to pay the meter.

If you are disabled with an out of state license plate, you will also have to pay the meter to park. Holders should re-visit their doctors to get re-certified on their placards.
