CHICAGO -Help is on the way for struggling Illinois homeowners.
Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation Thursday, protecting homeowners as they apply for federal mortgage help.
The law extends a current law and fights foreclosure.
Under the new rules, lenders can't sell a home while the homeowner's applying for federal mortgage assistance.
