No. 5 Wichita State Handles Bradley, 72-50

Shockers move to 18-0 with blowout win



WMBD/WYZZ-TV - WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State point guard Fred VanVleet turned in 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, leading No. 5 Wichita State (18-0, 5-0 MVC) to a 72-50 home win against Bradley (6-12, 1-4) in Missouri Valley Conference basketball Tuesday night at Koch Arena.


Bradley (6-12, 1-4 in MVC) held the Shockers to just 39.6 percent shooting from the field and Wichita State had only two more field goals than the Braves 9(1-19). But the Shockers (18-0, 5-0) enjoyed a 29-14 advantage in free throw attempts.


Bradley was within 15-14 when Omari Grier drained a 3-pointer with 8:29 remaining in the first half, but the Shockers closed the period on a 25-9 surge and never looked back.
