At Morningstar United Methodist Church, autumn fun is promoted through those pumpkins. It's the eighth year the church has held its festival.

There are plenty of pumpkins to pick up and treats for the kids to take home with them. Organizers say it's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the church, and helps them send their kids on mission trips. Plus, there’s a ton to see.

“They love playing on the straw over there and it's just a fun day. it'd be nice if it'd be a little bit warmer, but we can't control the weather. People still need their pumpkin,” said Betty Haag, advertising director for Morningstar.

This year, portions of the proceeds from the pumpkin patch are being donated to local ministries in town.

On Saturday, the church is having a big yard sale for the community, from eight to two at the church. The patch is open every day through Halloween. It opens at 10 Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. It closes at dusk each day.
