Normal Resident Convicted In Operation Prairie Eagle
A Normal resident faces mandatory life in prison following his conviction Friday in Peoria federal court on drug charges. A jury found 34 year old Richard George Martin guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana. Martin's conviction is the latest as a result of Operation Prairie Eagle. It's a cooperative investigation targeting distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana in the Bloomington-Normal area led by Normal Police and the FBI. In the past two years, 22 people have been convicted as part of Operation Prairie Eagle.
