PEORIA – The fate of Peoria elementary school principal is being discussed at Monday evening’s District 150 board meeting.
In early December, the district began investigating Charter Oak Primary School Principal John Wetterauer for possible testing irregularities that may have happened under his watch.
The district’s investigating is complete and it is being submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education.
Principal Wetterauer has seen an outpouring of support from Charter Oak parents.
Parent Brenda Wilson said she disagrees with the district’s way of handling the situation. She said she’s ready to defend the principal at the meeting. “The principal doesn't conduct tests. A principal in the room while a child is testing would be a distraction, really. So he's not even in the room, so for him to be treated like a criminal in this process is terrible.”
