PEORIA – Many parents and community members showed their support for Principal John Wetterauer at Monday night’s school board meeting.
A parent group was formed in his defense shortly after Wetterauer was placed on paid leave in December.
Charter Oak Mother Kim Fogle said she disagrees with the way the district is handling the situation and she worries about the effect it’s having on students at the school. “This is so heartbreaking for all of us and not even just people who have children, who have kids in the school. People know his reputation. This is a blue ribbon school."
Fogle said the group wants more answers from the district. They don’t believe any teachers engaged in any sort of cheating activity.
The parent group said it will continue to fight to get Principal Wetterauer back in the school.
