Peoria County Health Department Rescheduling Clinics During Extreme Wind Chills

Peoria - The Peoria City/County Health Department strongly advises individuals and families with young children to reschedule Health Department clinic services on Monday and Tuesday, January 6 and 7.
Peoria - The Peoria City/County Health Department strongly advises individuals and families with young children to reschedule Health Department clinic services on Monday and Tuesday, January 6 and 7. Services are being rescheduled due to the National Weather Service of Central Illinois advisory of wind chills of 20 below to 35 below zero early next week.

Greg Chance, Administrator at Peoria City/County Health Department, advises families, "We are calling and rescheduling clients with young children for WIC, Dental, and Immunization clinics. With extreme wind chills expected next week, we want to advise families that children and infants lose body heat more quickly than adults. Loss of body heat can lead to serious conditions such as hypothermia, frostbite, or even death. We want families to be safe during these extreme weather conditions."

To reschedule any Health Department clinic services, call direct to WIC 309-679-6076, Dental 309-679-6141, Immunizations 309-679-6655.
