Peoria Couple Welcomes First 2014 Newborn at OSF

PEORIA - The first Peoria baby of 2014 didn't take long to get here.
PEORIA - The first Peoria baby of 2014 didn't take long to get here.

Indirea Slaughter gave birth to a baby girl, Triniti, at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, with father, Trenton Hollie, standing by.

Triniti weighed in at seven pounds, nine ounces and is 19.5 inches long. The couple entered the hospital at 6 a.m. Tuesday and was hoping to have the baby before 2013 ended, but being the first of the year was a nice consolation prize.

"It's shocking and overwhelming, but nice. I've got a precious gift and I don't mind sharing her with the world,” said Slaughter.

Triniti is the first baby for the couple. A second baby at OSF was born 13 minutes after.
