Average retail gas prices in Peoria have fallen 4.3 cents per gallon in the past week, according to a release Monday by GasBuddy.com. Prices were 24 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and 13.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says like the temperatures, gas prices are cooling off. Oil and gasoline futures may be more volatile this week as the federal shutdown is over and the Energy Information Administration releases data about supply and demand for the past two weeks.
