After months of debating, Peoria has finally made a decision on its code enforcement plans. The city had looked at the idea of outsourcing enforcement and building inspection. Leaders said there were too many buildings in poor condition that had set empty and boarded up for too long. In meetings, Peoria residents spoke up saying they wanted to stick with the workers that they knew. After weighing options, the city announced it will continue to use the union workers. There will , however, be an internal reorganization in order to make the city's services better.
