A Peoria jury found a Peoria teenager guilty Thursday of residential burglary but the same jury deadlocked on whether he was legally responsible for the death of a Mapleton man. 17 year old Zachary Cotter was one of three people charged with the murder of 68 year old former Illini Bluffs teacher James Cohee. He was found shot to death inside his Lake Camelot home last year. Prosecutors never accused Cotter of being the gunman, but claim, since he was there, he should be held legally accountable for the crime. They claim Cohee was the victim of a botched robbery attempt. Two others are awaiting trial for the same crime. Cotter is back in court September 18th.
