Peorian Charged in 2011 Homicide Found NOT GUILTY
A Peoria man, indicted for the city's 13th homicide of 2011, was found NOT GUILTY Friday afternoon by a Peoria jury of all charges. It took that jury just a few hours to exonerate 22 year old Wesley Collins who was charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Those charges stem from the October 10,2011 shooting which left Shannon Elmore dead. Elmore was a passenger in a car which was fired on. The shooting happened in the 500 block of West Columbia Terrace. A second man, Terrance Tuson, who was held legal accountable for the crime although authorities didn't believe he was the shooter, was recently sentenced to 70 years in prison.
