A Peoria man, whose six year old conviction in a double fatal accident was recently reinstated, appeared in court Thursday after missing a scheduled court appearance last week, apparently due to a miscommunication. 30 year old Aaron Martin was convicted of having meth in his system when his car collided with another on Christmas Day in 2004, killing 75 year old Jacqueline Harman of Washington and her daughter, 50 year old Rebecca Nighsonger of Chillicothe near Chillicothe. The appellate court in 2009 overturned Martin's conviction. However, The Illinois Supreme Court recently reinstated the conviction. Martin will be back in court for a court review August first.
