A Peoria man, whose accused of kidnapping and killing his estranged wife last month, was indicted Thursday by a Tazewell County grand jury. Phouvone Sophanavong is facing murder and aggravated kidnapping charges in connection with the death of his wife, Laongdao Phangtong. Authorities claim Sophanavong kidnapped his wife from her place of business in Pekin. Her body was later found in her car in the OSF parking deck in Peoria. Sophanavong was captured after a standoff with police after shooting himself. Police claim Sophanavong claimed he accidentally shot wife after she attempted to use a taser. Sophanavong, whose being held on five million dollar bond, is due in court December 12th.
