Peorian Sentenced for Kidnapping and Armed Robbery
One of two Peorians, indicted for kidnapping and beating an elderly man, pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. 30 year old Jerome Jones pleaded guilty to armed robbery and aggravated kidnapping just as his trial was to begin. Jones was seeking help from the Don't Shoot program at the time of his arrest. He was on parole from a 2011 drug conviction. Police say Jones and 18 year old Jarvis Logan kidnapped an elderly man from the street January 5th and took him to a home on Widenham. The victim was allegedly bound and beaten but managed to escape. Logan will appear in court again next Monday.
