Police Processing Thousands of Concealed Carry Applications

Applications are pouring in to state police.

Concealed carry applications are pouring in to the Illinois State Police.

So far, more than 20,000 applications have been approved by police.

But that doesn’t mean those residents are free to carry yet. The application then goes on to be reviewed by local sheriff’s departments, state’s attorneys, and police departments.

A spokesperson for the department said its receiving anywhere from 800 to 1,500 applications a day.
