Running Central Moving to Warehouse District

New downtown business that plans to grow
PEORIA – Running Central announced Tuesday its plans to move to 311 SW Water St. in downtown Peoria.

The store sells running shoes and apparel, but it also organizes a lot of the races that start and finish downtown. Owner Adam White said that's a plus, but ultimately wanted to be more central to their customers. White claims 35 percent of the store’s business comes from Woodford and Tazewell counties. He and his wife are also hoping to be the start of more investments in the warehouse district.

“When it's all said and done to purchase the building and to do the necessary build out its probably going to exceed a million and a half dollar investment," White said to a crowd of claps and cheers.

The husband and wife team plan to open the downtown store on April 1st. The Peoria Heights location will then close. Long term, White said they hope to grow their staff to 50 employees in three years.
