Snow Accumulation Tonight, Followed by Bitter Cold Temps

Another quick moving system will bring snow to the area Monday night, followed by a big blast of arctic air for much of the week.
Another quick moving clipper system will move into the area Monday night, spreading snow across the area starting early Monday evening, and continuing through the overnight hours.  As temperatures cool quickly, snow will accumulate on the roads, creating slick driving conditions overnight, and possibly for the morning commute.

Here's the timing and expected snow accumulation for central Illinois:

                Futurecast Monday 6pm

                Futurecast Tuesday 12am

                Futurecast Tuesday 7am

                Futurecast Tuesday 5pm

                Futurecast Snow Accumulation

Brutal cold will move in following the snow as a strong arctic front pushes through the area.  Overnight lows will flirt with 0º in some areas.  Wind Chill Advisories are in effect for most of the viewing area until 12pm Tuesday, as wind chill values slide to -10º to -20º Tuesday morning.

                Forecast Lows Tuesday AM

Wind Chill Advisory Through 12pm Tuesday

          Futurecast Wind Chills Tuesday 7am

Temperatures will remain very cold through much of the week.  Another quick (and light) snow chance will move in Wednesday, followed by another reinforcing shot of arctic air for the end of the week.
