Softball Tournament A Hit For Toys for Toys of McLean County
NORMAL -     Softball teams in the Twin Cities are not just competing against one another.
They're also working together for a good cause.

16 teams are meeting on the softball diamonds at Champion Fields in Normal today.

The double elimination tournament helps benefit toys for tots of McLean County.

Illinois State Basketball Coach Dan Muller was one of over a hundred people out showing support.

Organizers say they are hoping to match last year's donation total in order to deliver toys to kids in need during the holidays.

Event Organizer Shane Brown says, "Toys for tots passed out something like 18,000 toys last year and we're hoping to up that amount this year with the additional money since this is the first tournament."

Officials say they hope to raise three thousand dollars from the tournament this weekend.
