A  Peoria teen is sentenced to 25 years in prison after the murder of a  former Illini Bluffs teacher.
Seventeen year old Zachary Cotter was one of three people charged in the murder of 68 year old James Cohee of Mapleton.
He was found shot to death inside his Lake Camelot home last year.
Prosecuters claim Cohee was the victim of a botched robbery attempt.
Cotter was never accused of being the gunman but prosecutors thought he should legally be accountable for the crime.
Today his previous residential burglary charge was merged with a first degree murder charge to which Cotter plead guilty.
He has to serve 100% of his sentence and agreed to testify against another suspect in the trial.
Two others are awaiting trial for the same crime.
