Drivers in Peoria should expect intermittent lane closures on westbound Route 150 ( War Memorial Drive) in the vicinity of Route 6 ramps and Route 91, intermittent Route 6 ramp lane closures at Route 150 and intermittent Route 91 lane/full closures near Route 150 for the remainder of Friday evening and Saturday. The lane closures are necessary for crews to clean up red dye that was spilled by a vehicle. Meantime, beginning Monday, October 14th, Adams Street between Walnut and Persimmon, will be converted to a temporary, two way street. This is an effort to alleviate construction congestion. and IDOT says lane reductions will be in place on Route 116 at Ten Mile Creek in Tazewell County starting Monday, October 14th. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions due to shoulder and median work. Two lanes will be open to traffic on westbound Route 116 between 6:30am and 8:30am. Two lanes will be open to traffic on eastbound Route 116 between 4pm and 6pm. This work is expected to be completed by the end of November. The overall project includes the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 116 over Ten Mile Creek. Bridge replacement work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2014. Finally, flashing yellow arrow signals will be installed at Pioneer Parkway and Knoxville in Peoria, Monday, October 14th.
