"Thrill The World" Dance Event Gets Community Active, Involved

The annual "Thrill The World" event will take place on Saturday at the Peoria Stadium.
PEORIA – If you’ve always wanted to dress up like a zombie and dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thrillier,” now is your chance.

Peoria District 150 is sponsoring a dance event called “Thrill The World.”

The family-friendly event is open to anyone, and no dance skills are required.

Organizer Heidi Bauer said it’s a fun way to get the community involved and promote physical activity. “The dance starts promptly at 4 o'clock on Saturday at the Peoria stadium, gates open at 2:30. You can come practice and dance with us then. We will have face painting. There is a nominal fee of $1 per person or maximum $5 per family which will be donated to several local charities, which then participants can actually choose which bucket they want to put it in.”

A dance practice is taking place Wednesday evening at 6 P.M. at Peoria High School.

If you can’t make that practice, you can watch a video on YouTube from last year’s event at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-xMBR-7FsA.
