Two Bloomington Men Indicted for Drive by Shooting

Two Bloomington men were indicted Wednesday in connection with an alleged drive by shooting. 26 year old Deantre Jefferson and 19 year old Amon Wiley are facing aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm charges. Those charges stem from a shooting last week in which several shots were fired from a car in the 800 block of East Jefferson which left a woman wounded. Jefferson was picked up in Chicago early Tuesday and will be brought back to McLean County for prosecution. Meantime, Prosecutor Bill Workman says Wiley is being held legally responsible, claiming he was the driver of the car involved in the incident. Workman says they have no motive yet for the shooting. Wiley is being held on a half million dollar bond while bond for Jefferson was set at three quarter million dollars.
