Warming Centers for Frigid Temperatures

The city of Peoria opens warming centers and we have a link to warming centers across Illinois.

The following locations in Peoria will serve as cooling centers as sub-zero temperatures move in:

  • Fire Central – 505 NE Monroe St.

  • Fire Station #3 – 1204 W. Armstrong Ave.

  • Fire Station #4 – 2711 SW Jefferson Ave.

  • Fire Station #8 – 832 W. Hurlburt St.

  • Fire Station #10 – 3316 N. Wisconsin Ave.

  • Fire Station #11 – 1025 W. Florence Ave.

  • Fire Station #12 – 3004 NE Adams St.

  • Fire Station #13 – 2114 W. Richwoods Blvd.

  • Fire Station #15 – 717 W. Detweiller Dr.

  • Fire Station #16 – 2105 W. Northmoor Rd.

  • Fire Station #19 – 5719 Frostwood Pkwy.

  • Fire Station #20 – 2020 W. Wilhelm Rd.

  • Police Headquarters (Lobby) – 600 SW Adams

  • City Hall (Room 400) – 419 Fulton St. (8 A.M.-5 P.M. only)

  • Governor Quinn urges all Illinois residents to take advantage of the state’s more than 100 warming centers as temperatures dip to dangerous lows. These include Illinois Department of Human Services offices throughout the state, which are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or the Illinois Tollway Oases, which are open 24 hours a day.
