Woman Biking to Texas for Blind and Deaf

WASHINGTON - A Michigan woman's journey to help people with disabilities is landing her in central Illinois.
WASHINGTON - A Michigan woman's journey to help people with disabilities is landing her in central Illinois.
Janna Rowan is biking from Michigan to Texas to raise money and awareness for an organization that helps the deaf and blind. She says people with those disabilities do not have a lot of resources.
So far she's traveled hundreds of mile and made a stop in Washington on Sunday. With each pedal, she’s more motivated to open people's eyes to the challenges faced by people with disabilities.
"When we're pedaling on I keep thinking about that and thinking about every mile we go is going to make a difference in their lives hopefully,” Rowan said. “And that just keeps us going. It doesn't matter how hot it gets. It doesn't matter if it rains. It just doesn't matter. You just do what you need to do for the right reason."
Rowan started her trip a week ago. All proceeds will help the blind and deaf.
