Active Life: Boomers & phones

Active Life With Bob Larson

It’s not just millennials who spend too much time checking their cell phones.

AARP broke down results of how notifications could be too distracting in a new study.

According to the study, 55 percent of baby boomers check the notifications on their phones within a minute of receiving them.

A third of the people measured said they pick up their phones, only to forget what they intended to do, because they get distracted by notifications.

Beyond that, some said they cannot fall asleep at night until they have read all their notifications.

This could also impact relationships. One-fifth of people said they have missed a question from their spouse because they are checking their phones.
