Bloomington city leaders discuss idea of task force for cannabis regulations

Active Life

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Like many across the state, Bloomington City leaders are split on recreational marijuana. Earlier this week several council members met up to discuss how the city will distribute cannabis, if it’s approved.

Councilwoman Jenn Carrillo shared her thoughts saying in order to create a cannabis-permissive community, the regulations have to come from community members, law enforcement, city leaders and business owners.

She is pushing for the creation of a task force that would meet continuously to plot a multi-year rollout

It should be noted, some council members were opposed to the idea of a task force, saying often times they take too long to come up with decisions.
