Evening Anchor
Eugene Daniel anchors WMBD News at 4, 6 and 10 p.m., and WYZZ News at 9 p.m.
He joined the news team as a general assignment reporter in 2011, and covers anything from local government and school districts to the Washington tornado in 2013. Eugene received an award for research surrounding sports-related concussions and the creation of safer playing helmets.
Eugene is a southern gentleman at heart who has grown to love central Illinois. Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, he is a proud graduate of Elon University in North Carolina. (GO PHOENIX!) He currently volunteers at St. Paul Baptist Church serving young adults ages 19 to 29. He is also pursuing a M.Div from Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Il. He likes food, sports and is an avid collector of notebooks!
