Executive Digital Producer
Kevin Schwaller is the executive digital producer for CIProud.com, WMBD and WYZZ.
He graduated from Illinois State University in 2018, majoring in journalism and minoring in film studies. He worked at ISU’s student newspaper, The Vidette, as a news editor and columnist. Additionally, he worked at TV-10 as a news reporter and entertainment segment host.
During his time in school, he received Second Place: Feature Story in Illinois College Newspapers at the Illinois College Press Association’s 2018 Awards, as well as First Place: General Excellence in Illinois College Newspapers, with his Vidette co-editors.
Leading the digital team, Kevin has interests in writing, editing, and creating in the age of online media. He, along with his colleagues at WMBD, received a Broadcast Excellence Award for Best Use of Non-Broadcast Media at the 2019 Illinois Broadcasters Association’s Silver Dome Awards.
His interests include coffee, films, and Beyoncé. His disinterests include math. Most importantly, he loves telling people’s stories and making sure community member’s voices are heard. You can send stories his way at KSchwaller@wmbd.com.
